Freedom Of Speech

picalttag

' Shakespeare's Philosophy' by Colin McGinn. It's doubtful that anyone who has an enduring interest in Shakespeare and his plays would doubt that the Bard was of a philosophical bent. In fact, the eBook is much like one would expect from a serious philosopher. He opens with a chapter on the themes he is going to pursue, outlining his ideas and defining his terms. He follows with chapters on six major plays (Midsummer, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, Lear and The Tempest). Then, he offers four chapters on general topics such as gender and ethics. Finally, he wraps things up with an examination of Shakespeare's genius. I liked this eBook very much and hope others will as well.

'AC/DC: Maximum Rock & Roll' by Murray Engleheart. This eBook is a labor of love. Detractors and enemies need not waste their time. For those who value this gutsy loud great rock and roll band, the eBook is a great read, giving U.S. fans particularly a first hand look at the Australian rock culture and the trials and tribulations of the Young brothers. You will read how they climb to the top, lose their charismatic singer Bon Scott, and then come back even more ferociously with the legendary "Back In Black". Full of factoids! Use the Coupon Code below to receive a Discount on either of these eBook titles.

Shakespeare's Philosophy eBook edition by McGinn, Colin
Shakespeare's plays are usually studied by literary scholars and historians and the books about him from those perspectives are legion. It is most unusual for a trained philosopher to give us his insight, as Colin McGinn does here, into six of Shakespeare's greatest plays––A Midsummer Night's Dream, Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth, King Lear, and The Tempest.

All Shapes And Sizes Of ROCK-N-Roll Baby

picalttag

'Nerd Girl Rocks Paradise City' by Soffee, Anne, Thomas. I live in Southern California, and people visiting often want to see Hollywood. They want to see Beverly Hills. When they get to Hollywood, it is not at all, what they expect. They expect some Norma Shearer stardust dream of a place---and what they get is right out of NERD GIRL. Anne evokes this place as if channeling Nathaniel West and Charles Bukowski through the perceptual matrix of Wolf- Man Jack. She's all about Rock and Roll--and she wants to apply the razor of criticism to its pimply little throat. This is the prequel to SNAKE HIPS--that is to say it takes place just before. I like it better because....well...You read it.

'Fargo Rock City' by Chuck Klosterman. WoohhoOOOooo! Don't rate this book lower just because it was more than a book about metal music.... It deals a lot with Chuck Klosterman growing up in rural (Wyndmere) North Dakota, and the "culture shock" associated with being different in a small town. This is an enjoyable book for any music fan. Below is a Coupon Code for a Discount on either of these two eBook Titles.

Nerd Girl Rocks Paradise City: A True Story of Faking It in Hair Metal L.A. (Adobe Reader) eBook edition by Soffee, Anne, Thomas
This hilarious peek into the early years of the hair-band era reveals the hierarchy of fishnets, bustiers, and chicks with the Holy Grail-a backstage pass. After college, Anne Thomas Soffee journeyed to Los Angeles to start a career as a rock journalist and small-time heavy-metal flack.

It?s 1983 and Chuck Klosterman--a Wyndmere, North Dakota fifth-grader--wants to rock. His parents will not permit the long hair that his particular brand of rocking requires, but thankfully his brother returns from Fort Benning with the right tunes: Motley Cure?s Shout at the Devil. So begins Chuck?s love affair with heavy metal music, a genre that conquered the charts throughout the 1980s before disaffected grunge rockers like Nirvana and Pearl Jam laid it to waste in the early 90s.

You Ask Why? I Know I Did!

picalttag

'Fashion Babylon' by Imogen Edwards Jones. Written in novel form this is a insider look at the high fashion industry. And an industry it is. There's something very subtle that makes one simple little black dress cost $5,000 and one almost identical at WalMart that might be $50. And there's something that makes one girl get paid a small fortune for wearing that $5,000 dress down a runway while dozens of very similar looking girls are walking around outside in the WalMart dress merely walking to work. It's a fascinating look at an indistry, a lifestyle that most of us will never touch.

'Mind of Grenades' by Tommy Genovese. In one easy word, I can describe this work...POWERFUL! It is an intuitive, spellbinding account into the world of alcoholism, abuse and divorce through the mind of a homeless man. It is a very interesting way to cover the effects of these traumatic events on people in lieu of a self-help book. It also is a very easy read at 100 pages and can be covered in about an hour or so. Excellent book. Excellent job Tommy Genovese! Get the Coupon Code and use it at Checkout to receive a Discount on either of these two eBook Titles.

Fashion Babylon eBook edition by Edwards-Jones, Imogen,, Anonymous, ,
What is fashion? What is fashionable? Who decides what's in and what's out? Why is it green one year and blue the next? Why is one little black dress worth five thousand dollars and another worth fifty? Is the catwalk really that catty? What makes a supermodel so super? And a designer too hot to touch? Who is making money? Who owns whom? Who hates whom? And who's in each other's pockets?

Master The Things You Love

picalttag

'Pro Tools for Musicians and Songwriters' by Gina Fant-Saez. This eBook is great for anyone who wants to get right into protools recording. The hands on examples are excellent and easy to apply to your own music. It is written in a way that makes it easy to understand and apply the concepts. I bought protools 101 too and this eBook covers all if not more of the material in that book in a much more user friendly way with color screen shots that make it easy to follow. I highly reccommend it for anyone interested in digital recording with protools.
'Pencil Sketching' by Thomas C. Wang. So many art books give long-winded descriptions of what to do, and even how to do it, yet they fail to capture the essence of what makes a drawing good. Wang concentrates on simple elements and rules of thumb, providing a wealth of wisdom in a few words and pictures. This eBook show you how to hold a pencil, line, composition, values and shading, etc. The author also leads you through how to make specific elements: landforms, trees, water, and more. And don't forget… Check below for the Coupon Code to receive a Discount on these two eBook Titles. We're off to see the wizard... Movies & Music Oh My..

picalttag

Can't Buy Me Love looks back on the Beatles from way back at the very beginning of their roots. I have read almost every book about the Beatles and most of the books go right past the most essential part we remember, the music. Gould does not rely on the memories of those who were there 50 years ago. Instead, he looks to the original sources, the music writers and fans of that time, in the words they wrote then. I recommend this eBook to everyone.

I read Billion Dollar Kiss at random more by accident really, and was pleased to find a smart mix of behind-the-scenes TV-writing insights along with big picture trends shaping the careers, compensation, and success of TV writers from the mid-80's on. I found this eBook an excellent and revealing read about the TV business from a writer's perspective. It is warmly recommended to all those who are interested in what goes on behind the scenes in Hollywood. Be sure to check below to receive your Discount Coupon for these to eBooks.

CANT BUY ME LOVE eBook edition by Gould, Jonathan
"Gould, a former musician, has written an engrossing book, both fluid and economical (aside from one overlong section on the concept of charisma). Page after page, you can hear the music; Gould's deft hand makes the book sing. This is music writing at its best."

Billion-Dollar Kiss eBook edition by Stepakoff, Jeffrey
When Jeffrey Stepakoff was graduating with an MFA in playwriting, he imagined a life in the New York theater, wearing a beret and smoking clove cigarettes. Writing for the "boob tube" didn't even cross his mind. But he ended up in L.A. in the late 80's, when television writers were experiencing their equivalent of a gold rush. After the billion- dollar syndication of Seinfeld, when studios were paying astronomical amounts of money to writers to create the next Friends or ER, the sudden mania for scripted entertainment made the TV writer a hot commodity. He found himself meeting with big agents, inside primetime story rooms, pitch meetings, and on the set of some of TVs most popular shows, and making more money than he'd ever thought possible.

Museum eBook edition
by Danziger, Danny
A unique oral portrait of the Met, drawing on interviews with everyone from the director to the security guards The Metropolitan Museum of Art is one of the greatest museums in the world. It is an enormous place that takes up five city blocks and has more than two million square feet of space, filled with treasures everywhere the eye can see. There are exquisite vases, jewelry, tapestry, baseball cards, Egyptian mummies, sculptures, and furniture, and many of the most famous and recognized paintings in the world, from Van Gogh to Rembrandt, Monet, and El Greco. But this famous institution, which attracts four million visitors a year, is not just about objects. This is a place that is supported and maintained by people, which is what this wonderful book celebrates. In the fifty-two interviews in Museum, we meet some of the people who have given their lives to making the Met the success that it is. We are introduced to curators with endless knowledge who look after the collections; as well as cleaners; florists; police and security staff who maintain and secure the building; plus the philanthropists and millionaires who donate their money for new and wonderful art works, including well-known people like Henry Kravis and Annette de la Renta. Danziger has a rare touch for getting just the right detail, and these interviews are informative, moving, and compulsively readable. Oral history at its best, Museum will appeal not only to the millions who visit the Met every year, but also to anyone with an interest in museums and art.
